What is the Pennsylvania High School United Nations Conference?

PHUNC is the Pennsylvania High School United Nations Conference, made possible by the Pennsylvania State International Affairs and Debate Association.  Model United Nations is a popular style of simulation that allows students to act as delegates representing different countries or world leaders. This inaugural high school conference will be held in the Fall of 2012 at Penn State's beautiful University Park campus.

PHUNC is not your average high school Model UN conference. This conference will also hold smaller, crisis style committees that will provide for engaging debate and are common on the collegiate Model UN circuit.  Our hope as a club is to put on a conference that includes both modern and historical committees that new delegates and seasoned veterans alike will enjoy.

The tentative week for the conference is Friday, November 9, 2012 - Sunday, November 11, 2012. These dates were selected so as to avoid interference with the Penn State home football schedule.

Below is a slideshow from PHUNC's sister conference PUNC 2011 (Pennsylvania United Nations Conference), which is the collegiate equivalent that is also made possible by the Penn State International Affairs and Debate Association.
